Prescription Sleeping Pills
Ambien and Sonata

These include medications in the class known as benzodiazepines, such as temazepam (Restoril), newer medications that are known as benzodiazepine receptor agonists, such as zolpidem (Ambien) and zaleplon (Sonata) . Some may be short-acting and work best for trouble initially falling asleep. Others may be long-acting and work best for maintaining sleep during the night.
Ambien
Ambien (zolpidem tartrate), can be very effective in the short-term treatment of insomnia. While natural sleep is best, zolpidem can help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and not awaken prematurely giving you the good night's sleep your body demands without lingering drowsiness the following day.
Sonata
Sonata (Zaleplon) is a new sleep aid on the market giving relief for millions from sleeplessness. Sonata has a shorter period of influence in the body and is beneficial for people who struggle to fall asleep but don't have trouble staying asleep.
